We are excited to announce Bicycle Benefits Tri-Cities! Wheelhouse Community Bike Shop wants to help local businesses engage bicycle riders by participating in the nationwide Bicycle Benefits program. Bicycle Benefits supports both cycling and local business with a program designed to attract both new and return customers and offer an incentive to those who bicycle through special rewards and discounts.

The program encourages people to ride their bike more often and experience the Tri-Cities in a different way. We have a lot of cyclists in the area looking for goods and services during their bicycle travels. What better way to introduce a new clientele to area businesses.

Eight businesses in historic downtown Kennewick are already participating. Anyone can find current and new participating businesses through the Bicycle Benefits website: Look for featured businesses on Wheelhouse’s Facebook page.

Bicycle Benefits helmet stickers let participating businesses know which bicycle riders receive discounts and benefits. All Wheelhouse members now receive a sticker as a benefit of membership. Stop in and pick up your sticker! Helmet stickers sell for $5 otherwise.

Businesses who want to participate may purchase the Bicycle Benefits package for $26.75 on the Bicycle Benefits website or through Wheelhouse Community Bike Shop. The package includes stickers for their windows to advertise their participation, and 5 helmet stickers they can sell bike-riding customers.

As an added benefit Bicycle Benefits is a national program. Participating bike riders can show their sticker at Bicycle Benefits businesses in other towns nationwide including Seattle and Walla Walla locally. Folks visiting the Tri-Cities area with their bikes and Bicycle Benefits stickers will look for participating businesses during their travels.

Wheelhouse is dedicated to encouraging more bicycle participation and we look forward to adding more bike trips to local businesses with the help of Bicycle Benefits Tri-Cities.
